We woke up this morning to snow falling in Durham. The weather forecasters seemed surprised at how heavy it was - about 25 mm. The North Carolina drivers in Raleigh-Durham seemed unprepared - nearly 15 injury accidents before 7 AM. And the researchers at Duke from places colder than here scoffed at how light and pitiful it was.
Well, Sal and I thought it looked pretty and it made riding to work interesting

Now I wished I'd visited in Jan rather than November!
Though snow means it must be rather cold right? In which case I'll take an Aussie summer.
Cheers, Tim.
Hi Nic and Sal,
I have finally found the time to check out your blog and it certainly is an impressive way to keep a journal, to capture impressions (conscious and photographic), as you come to grips with the alien familiarity that is the USA for Australians. Your cousin Tim is in the process of moving out of home to share a house with friends as he prepares for his second year at WAAPA Music Theatre. He also has a job and has been working quite a lot of shifts at the Exomod Cafe in Mt Lawley - perfect complementary skills for a future performer.
